That moment of frustration sparked an idea that would change eyeglass repair forever.
The Invention
Nancy invented the SnapIt Screw, a patented and revolutionary screw design with a unique breakaway tip. Instead of wrestling with a tiny screw and a fiddly screwdriver, users simply drop the screw into the hinge, tighten it down, and snap off the excess with their fingers. No tools. No lost parts. No stress. Just a fixed pair of glasses in seconds.
2008
Early Validation
Nancy developed the concept around 2008 and shortly after licensed the technology in the USA and Canada to Optisource, part of the Essilor Luxottica group, one of the world's leading optical companies. That early validation from such a major industry player was a clear sign that SnapIt Screw was onto something genuinely special.
2014
European Headquarters
In 2014, a European headquarters was established in Essex, UK, with Stephen Linnecar lead20ing the charge to bring SnapIt Screw to retail markets across Europe and beyond. Stephen and his team developed the complete product ecosystem around Nancy's invention, designing the consumer Eyeglass Repair Kit, the premium point-of-sale displays, and the full retail proposition that would allow the product to work as well on a pharmacy shelf as it does on an optician's counter.
